CHURCH OF RAGE NEWSLETTER 07.03.2023

Dear TBHG family, 

I hope you’ve had a great a February so far. As winter is coming to an end and spring is around the corner, I want to invite you to an exclusive members & friends only event in Berlin, March 17th to kick off the new season.

SHORTY!

But first let’s talk about “SHORTY!”. This is definitely the most energetic live song I’ve ever made. Turn up, pure rage. 

I produced “SHORTY!” together with Salux, who also DJs at some shows for me, so we made the beat having the shows in mind. The video we shot for the song does not reference classic movies like the visuals for “EYE4EYE” did but I based this new concept around the me in the individual sets & situations they depict. 

The opening shot of me in all red in “SHORTY!” is a continuation of the last scene of “EYE4EYE”, in which I am a detective (Brad Pitt, 7 deadly sins reference) investigating a crime scene and the red coloured writing of “GERMAN ANGST” on the carpet. 

The camera follows the red footsteps of the all red character into the empty white room - it is him! He did it! He dared to put it out into the world, GERMAN ANGST! What do you think is he trying to tell us?

The following scene brings us to the green room, which is a reference to a famous Korean photographer Rana Choi (City Man, 2015)

Seeing Natisa (the dancer) and me in the green room with the mannequins in suits dancing and turning up is a reference to corporate, industry and influencer performances. 

The babies symbolise a rebirth, the future, a duality / trinity? They are the new voices I introduce across the GERMAN ANGST project.

Together we will try to face and overcome these fears. MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT 

For those of you based in Germany, who are in the need of help / support, these are the numbers for mental health support (available 24/7). We are also currently in the talks with „Krisenchat.de“, which is an organization focussing on mental health support, particularly for men under 25, to set up some kind of support network but we will keep you posted on that.

MARCH 17TH!

We will be coming together to celebrate the launch / release of the GERMAN ANGST EP, at Kühlhaus in Berlin. It’ll be a multi-sensory experience in a uniquely scented venue, the scent was developed by me and FLORES LANE. There will also be a cacao ceremony for this interest in partaking.

We’ve created a program for you, ranging from group activities over to performances by guest artists, so it’ll be a experience you will not forget - please be aware that this is not a KELVYN COLT concert but a TBHG community happening.

And now I have a task for you to help our launch event for GERMAN ANGST to fully come to live. I ask all of you to bring 1 friend / person you would like to introduce to the community. I know it can be intimidating or tricky but I believe in you. I’m not asking you to just bring anyone too - but someone who is not already a member of the TBHG. WHAT AM I UP TO

Since you know, I’ve bene grinding in the USA building a team here, going to sessions and just figuring it all out day by day - like all of us. I have a lot of new music already but also a lot of personal development i have been experiencing and I am excited to share some more with you in the next newsletter.
